About Me!
Hi, I’m Colleen —a breast cancer survivor, wife, mom of two energetic boys in elementary school, and a small business owner learning to balance it all.
A few years ago, my world was turned upside down with a breast cancer diagnosis I never expected at my age. I suddenly found myself navigating doctors’ appointments, treatments, and the overwhelming question of how to be both a mom and a patient.
It wasn’t easy. There were days I felt like I couldn’t possibly balance motherhood with survivorship. But slowly, I learned that strength doesn’t mean “having it all together”—it means showing up, one messy and beautiful day at a time. The journey was hard—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—but it also gave me a new lens on life. I came out the other side with deeper gratitude, stronger faith, and a fierce determination to live fully and intentionally.
These days, my life is beautifully messy and wonderfully full. Mornings are spent packing lunches and rushing to soccer practice, afternoons working at my family business, and evenings filled with homework, laughter, and sometimes sheer exhaustion. Through it all, I carry with me the lessons cancer taught me: that joy can be found in the little things, that community matters, and that resilience is built one step at a time.
Why I Started This Blog
When I was first diagnosed, I scoured the internet for voices like mine: moms who were in the thick of raising little ones while also fighting breast cancer. I wanted someone to say, “I get it. You’re not alone.”
That’s why I created this space.
Here, you’ll find:
- Stories from my journey as a survivor and mom
- Practical tips for balancing family life with health challenges
- Honest reflections on body image, resilience, and motherhood
- Resources & encouragement for anyone walking a similar path
What You’ll Find Here
This isn’t just a cancer blog. It’s a life blog. Because survivorship is about so much more than treatment—it’s about bedtime stories, soccer games, messy kitchens, belly laughs, and everything in between.
My hope is that this blog feels like a friend pulling up a chair at your kitchen table with coffee saying, “Me too. Let’s figure this out together.”💗
